Characteristic Function
Let A be a subset of universal set U={u1,u2,u3....un).
The Characteristic function is defined as : f: U -> {0,1}
where domain of the function is U .
So by the rule:
ƒ(ui)={0,if ui ∉ A}
{ 1, if ui ∈ A}
It is used in representing sets in computer.
